Beales – Intranet development

The challenge

Their intranet is key to Beales delivering on a key strategic pillar: championing local high streets and being seen as the local department store. Its intranet was strong in terms of function and procedure. Engagement, however, was low. Our challenge was to:

  • Enhance content with the brand’s values, giving staff and reasons to visit and use the intranet regularly


What we did

  • Consulted with content stakeholders, including HR, Finance, Retail Operations and Marketing
  • Co-ordinated a competition to suggest a name for the enhanced intranet
  • Developed a more dynamic, content-rich user interface
  • Created a content guide and tone of voice
  • Worked with the existing platform provider to minimise costs
  • Trained key staff on content creation and management
